Canopy Locking an link system.
We decided to open the canopy with 4 rod ends…see below.
1 + We think it is more beautiful
2 + The wind cant get a grip on it.
3 - It will cost some weight.

To make this system you need a tube at the front that connect the LH and RH rod end.

For the Locking system we chosed for a combination we have seen on the KRnet and at a Dutch KR builder.
Above is a template. The rotating plate is mounted on the canopy frame an the lower bolt is the fuselage. The
spring wil give us a overcentre lock. The small steel rod simulate the locking pin that will locks the canopy on
the aft side into the turtle deck. A movement of 30 mm will do the job.

RH lower side. Good view how the push pull bar, for the aft locking point is positions in the glued plastic tube.
For the connection with the rod ends we glued a u shaped profile.

LH lower view. Everything covered with one layer CF. Glued A carbon tube that will support the bolt for the
rotation plate and the outside opening /closing handle.

Installed the LH push pull bar with a temp handle.

Working on the final locking plate.

RH locking plate. And all the stuff.

LH side. We installed a key lock. The steel rod moves into the small tube. The length of the steel rod will
block the system if you turned the key.

LH side. Final installation.

Finished. You can see the small allu tube for the key locking mechanism.

Good view about the aft locking pin. And the canopy glass is installed.
